When the annual fall TV slaughter claimed “Moonlight” as one of its victims, there was “an insane reaction,” as one reporter at the TCA press tour put it, from fans of the show. (Vampires are cool, but don’t mess with the people who love them!)

CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler didn’t offer much consolation: “Well, everybody knows I love vampires, witches, werewolves, warlocks -- I love them all.”

But she said of “Moonlight’s” cancellation, “I don't question the choice we made. I'm not getting as much mail, and most of those comments were actor-centric.”

Actor-centric? I’m not sure what difference that makes, a fan is a fan, whether they are obsessed with the character Mick St. John or the actor who plays him, Alex O’Loughlin.

So when asked if CBS would like to work with O’Loughlin again on a different show, Tassler said, “Sure. We’d love to.”

I’m sure fans would love that too, perhaps just on a different network.

Take a look at a slideshow of our picks for the Best Canceled TV Shows. Is yours in there?

body I am very unhappy they cancelled Moonlight. I looked forward to it each week, and I liked the electricity between Mick and Beth...
I wish they would have kept it on

body I'm more or less done with this network. It seems that the only thing they're interested in is setting a record for canceling the most shows.

body I am bummed, I really enjoyed the three in a row on Friday's. Mick was a superhero, I loved the character development espcially Josef's character. Oh well, i enjoyed Jericho also.

As a fan of Jericho my heart goes out to the Moonlight fans, they have helped us and we've helped them as fans of good shows have to. I also agree with Vale, CBS takes chances on good shows and then doesn't have the you know what to back them. Maybe they are going for a record!

I was pleased to see Jericho in the Best Cancelled, although I wish it were different. Jericho fans aren't done yet Comcast so check out http://www.savejerichoagain.com/ for our history making efforts.
I hope both of our shows find new homes and soon!

body Mick and Beth were the one bright light on Friday night. All the other networks were boring. Moonlight brought romance, drama, humor, excitement, with a touch of the old "monster movie" into our homes. It is a shame that CBS had decided to cancel this show.

body I am so upset at the cancelation of Moonlight. There isn't hardly anything worth watching on TV and you take off one of the good shows worth watching. I hope you have enough common sense to put Alex O'loughlin on another show. It seems you leave on the trash, filth and garbage and you take off the one's that are decent.
