Simpson's Sudsy Stampede

She's certainly come a long way from her days as a gospel singer on the Christian music circuit. Jessica Simpson is now shilling beer – well, light beer, but still – for Texas-based brewer Stampede.

Simpson will appear in ads for Stampede Light Plus, an alcoholic beverage that invites drinkers to "Be smart, drink smart." Clearly, everybody's favorite Chicken of the Sea fan is the obvious choice to represent a smart drinker. Here's the ad:


 

The ad copy reads: "I work out and I take care of myself. But I also like a cold beer once in a while. That's why I made the smart choice with a smart beer. Stampede Light, it's beer plus." Plus what remains a mystery.

Simpson, ever the career girl, has a 15 percent stake in the company.

body I will definitely stay away from Stampede. All alcohol kills brain cells but the thought of drinking Jessica's beer frightens me horribly. I have this horrifying thought that drinking her beer would eat away all brain activity.
And the fact that she's such an untalented famous person who's father is in love with her; makes me the most horrified of all. Only in America, baby. (I'm not slamming our Country; just some of the mindless people in it)
