RomCom veteran John Cusack is changing it up a bit as the star of Roland Emmerich’s cataclysmic new blockbuster "2012." Here’s the general idea: Long ago Mayans predicted that the world would end in December of 2012 with a disaster of epic proportion. The Mayans knew what they were talking about. We’ve got giant waves, cities crumbling, meteors landing, non-stop explosions and politicians who could care less about the poor voters trying to escape.

Then there’s Cusack and his family. Stuck in their Winnebago the family races to survive. I think this is supposed to be a family-friendly action film? Maybe it’s a thinly veiled metaphor for the family road trip? I know my family vacations sometimes feel like the end of the world.

Check out Cusack as he puts pedal to the metal. After watching this clip there’s little doubt that Emmerich is the king of Armageddon.
