Above is would-be Internet superstar Jordan Crawford talking about the facial he laid on King James at the Lebron James Skills Academy Monday.
For those of you who missed the story yesterday, Crawford, a 6-foot-4 guard who plays for Xavier, threw down a nasty dunk on the head of LeBron at James' academy. Several cameramen filmed the "incident," but LeBron had Nike seize all video evidence of the posterization in an effort to hide his shame. (For more info on the tomfoolery, check out my blog from yesterday.)
The LeBron/Nike camp is now claiming they confiscated the tape because the cameramen at the event violated the academy's established "no videotaping" policy. If you buy that, I have a cashier's check from a Nigerian prince I'd like you to cash.
Here's Nike's official statement:
"Nike has been operating basketball camps for the benefit of young athletes for decades and has longstanding policies in place regarding what events are open and closed to media coverage. Unfortunately, for the first time in four years, two journalists did not respect our "no videotaping" policy at an after hours pick-up game Monday evening following the LeBron James Skills Academy."
Did I miss the coup, people? Did Nike and King James overthrow our democracy and replace it with their own Kim Jong Il fascist autocracy? Should we all be acknowledging our reverence for Supreme Leader James daily?
If you are going to start seizing video and controlling the media, you might as well go all the way. (Is there still time to get a copyright for a giant rabbit-skinned low mid?)

man up? to attend, you agreed to "no video". man up to that. there is a legend that babe ruth pointed out lou gehrig, lou then pointed out joe di maggio, joe chose mickey mantle, and the mick picked thurman munson, all as "next greats". i do not know the truth of this, but have heard it multiple times. let's not lose sight of mr. james for what he has not shown to be, a suicidal, wife beating, convicted pedophile, ear biter. or even a depraved sponsor of dog fighting. i have heard nothing about substance abuse, or hgh, etc. let's hope he takes the tapes back to his team, and says without interference(ncaa violations), we need to sign this guy. shaq will probably be gone, and i will need help (i'm betting you don't get d. wade) as for kings, elvis (rock) james brown (soul) michael jackson (pop - and why do pedophiles keep popping up?) are all dead. freddy mercury was the queen of rock. Get over it "King" James. Stick a pin in your ego!!! You are an ATHLETE not the King of the world or President of the U.S.A. Fact is that this kid dunked over you and embarrassed you. Show the world that you are human and release the tape. Instead of making up some story about not allowing cameras. Be a role model for the young kids out there, something I believe you fail to be.

I totally agree- and the NBA gave him the MVP award...why??? He is a poor example for the sport and very immature! The sooner he realizes that the world does not evolve because he is in it the better he will be...can you blame his parents for the cockiness that he has or can you blame the NBA for making him a monster?

Wow, what an EGO.. I was listening to a sports radio station this morning, they were saying that the tape was actually rolling for about 15 minutes before the dunk on James happened and it wasn't until then that they decided to confiscate the tape. For those first 15 minutes though they didn't seem to have a problem with Labron and his training session or what ever it was being taped.
