Ladies,

If one thing is clear from the hottest trends in eyewear this summer, it’s that there’s no room for shrinking violets. Vintage-inspired styles rule, and sunglasses are oversized and bold, creating starlet mystique whether you’re heading to an audition or just out to lunch. We picked the hot luxury brands making waves on both coasts, and tracked down some recession-friendly look-a-likes in case your wallet’s the one feeling a little shy.

Love,

Jee Vice

The Star:
Anne Hathaway
Fellow Fans: Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Katherine Heigl

The Real Deal:
A relatively new kid on the block, French brand Jee Vice is making headway with statement glasses like the Red Hot ($212.49), which comes in six other colors besides its namesake red.
The Real Steal: For a square pair at a fraction of the price, try Fossil Shelly glasses ($45). They’re red, and the subtle side detail adds a little edge to your glam.
Chloe
The Star:
Lauren Conrad
Fellow Fans:
Julianne Moore, Jessica Alba, Naomi Campbell

The Real Deal:
Chloé has been creating elegant eyewear sought by celebrities for some time, but the Myrte ($290) style with its oversized round shape and metal inlay helped the brand reach a new level of fervor.
The Real Steal:
For less than half the price, you can grab a nearly identical look to the Myrte with the Andrea Jovine A366 ($75). Granted, you’ll be missing the Chloé prestige, but the retro shape is there.

Tom Ford
The Star: Jennifer Lopez
Fellow Fans:
Jennifer Aniston, Sienna Miller, Mena Suvari

The Real Deal:
Ever since Tom Ford launched his first eyewear collection in 2006, celebrities have scooped up shades like the TF51 Lilliana ($270) for their classic, clean lines and pretty shapes.
The Real Steal:
These metal-frame sunglasses ($17) mimic the shape and thin earpieces of Tom Ford’s pricier pair. And, at less than a tenth of the price, you could by these and a few others.

Ray-Ban

The Star:
Kate Moss
Fellow Fans:
Fergie, Rachel Bilson, Vanessa Hudgens

The Real Deal: The shades of the 80s are everywhere in Hollywood as the go-to pair to wear for everything from errands to appearances. The classic 2140 ($170) now comes in a veritable rainbow of colors and special styles, too.
The Real Steal:
Old Navy Women’s Classic Sunglasses ($9.50) may not have the Ray-Ban caché, but they do come in six different colors, including the classic black and a very springtime pink and robin’s egg blue
