body Kris AllenIn a live chat here on Comcast.net's "Eye on Idol" blog Thursday, "American Idol" winner Kris Allen spilled some plans for his debut album, revealed a little-known childhood ailment and talked about grandmas trying to kiss him in public.

Scroll down to check out the complete transcript of our 30-minute live chat, but here are some of the highlights.

Kris was asked pretty quickly whether he felt short-changed by the judges, considering they threw their support behind other singers, such as Adam Lambert and Danny Gokey.

"You know, I never felt like that because I felt that the people that did get the credit were very deserving of it," Kris said. "The people getting all the praise were really good. I felt like I was getting enough praise, as well. For me, I'm very hard on myself, so even if they would've told me I was the best ever, I would've gone back and listened to it and thought I could've done better. So I'm way harder on myself than they would've been on me."

Asked about plans for his debut album, Kris said there was little he could reveal about it -- including song titles -- but that it might surprise some fans.

"I think it's going to have that acoustic feel, but not too much," he said. "It's going to have probably a little more rock feel than people think it's going to, which is cool. But also good stuff that people will want to listen to. More along the lines of pop rock."

After runner-up Adam Lambert posed on the cover of Rolling Stone with a snake slithering around his nether region, Kris had a good time with a question from a fan asking which animal he would pose with if given the chance.

"That's a funny question,' Kris said. "Me and my friends always joke around, and they say if I was going to be an animal, I would be a koala bear, so maybe a koala."

Keeping with the media thing, Kris was asked about the funniest tabloid rumor he's seen printed about him.

"I think the funniest thing was that me and my wife were getting divorced and she's pregnant," he said. "Yeah... she's pregnant and I can't deal with it and we're getting a divorce. I thought that was hilarious. She's not... and we're not getting a divorce."

After so many interviews in the wake of winning "Idol," Kris was asked for one thing people don't know about him.

"I don't know if people know this or not: I actually had a tumor when I was 13," he said. "I had to have one of my ribs removed. I don't think a lot of people know that. And I have a sweet scar now. It's awesome."

And after all the media and the attention is done, Kris said he still has to contend with grandmas laying their lips on his cheeks (we presume). Asked about the funniest thing he has to deal with from fans, Kris said, "The funniest thing is that most of the -- I will call them the grandmas -- older ladies, they come up to you like you are their grandson. So they, like, kiss you and it's totally cool.

"That's definitely the funniest thing. But you have to roll with it. They're grandmas. They're not trying to hit on me or anything, so I don't think there's anything to worry about there."

body Chat notes:

Bummer about Kris's grandma. . . . I still miss mine.

The nail polish on the thumb . . . I LOVED it when Adam took his off the corresponding thumb . . . warm fuzzies . . .

His wife is a lucky lady, not so much because of his newfound stardom, but because he seems so grounded and supportive of HER . . . making a point to say she has nothing to worry about.

GREAT interview, and I actually learned a few things. This was less like a Tiger Beat article than Adam's. THANKS Victor!

Kris is a sweetheart. I love how well he knows who he is and says he will stick true to his beliefs because they are what made him who he is. His not flaunting them nor making mention of them shows he was there for the singing and wanted nothing to distract from the contest, nor anything for the media to run with. The story he wanted at the forefront was, hey this kid can sing. Class act! No media frenzy story for him like they had done to Danny and Adam. It's called knowing when and what to open your mouth about. He preserved himself well!

His background should help him get through all of the media coverage that will surround his life now to preserve his marriage too. We all know the pressure so called stardom can have on marriages that aren't solidly grounded. Sounds like his is and I hope for a life time strong union for him and his wife.

Not being a fan of country music I was happy to hear he won't be going that direction; now I'll be happier when we hear him transition over to Christian music, (hope hope hope) but we know that won't happen until 19 is out of the picture.

Kris if you just stay mainstream pop you will lose a great window to share the most important stories of all. At least do both. And stay grounded at home as much as you can; especially being with your wife, family and church. These are your lifelines! We are just fans who admire your talent, don't make the mistake that some do that this is now your life. It's only an added bonus OF your life. Keep your beliefs strong, wear them around your neck and let them be the most important thing in your life! They will lead you in right directions!

I'm so glad you don't mind grandmas kissin on your cheeks! We do love to give sugar don't we? hehe

Kris is a precious guy.... this was the best interview yet.... how wise to save the best til last Victor!! Of course it was all in the kind, gentle genuineness of the man, but we'll give you a little credit too.

JALB,

Ditto on the country music! I disagree on wanting to go strictly Christian though. Need to reach out, not just play church.

Here's link to some disappointing antics by another contestant. Not graphic or anything, just . . . sad . . . and MEAN. I didn't want to be proven right so quickly. I didn't want to be proven right at all, actually.

Shattah..... how much of this do you really think we should believe? The story starts out Danny handed the pic to Adam to sign, blah blah blah, and then he signed it 'to Stephanie, thnx for the support' ??????????? Is Danny aka Stephanie?

body jalb, I think Stephanie is the cousin that had the facebook page. It looks real enough, I know people can fake a lot nowadays, but even so. Not good for Danny even if it is fake.
