In an interview with MTV, Jay-Z explains the inspiration behind his new track, 'D.O.A.' He says, "I saw a Wendy's commercial and they're using Auto-Tune. They're joking on it. It's like, OK, enough of that ... It was a trend, it was cool in the beginning. Some people made great music with it, now it's time to move on."
He may have a point. This is a pretty rough commercial.
On the other hand, Jay-Z's partnership with Budweiser nearly turned me off to beer. Remember when Jay sold the lead single from 'Kingdom Come' to promote Budweiser Select? 'Show Me What You Got' was to Jay-Z what Budweiser is to beer: watered down. I know that Jay-Z wants to amp up his credibility by making Big Statements, but this is a little ridiculous.

He's not bashing Wendy's he's bashing people using auto-tunes it was T-pain he made hit records with it now thats all you hear he's saying be original and show skills instead of auto-tunes for everything. People Jay-Z wasn't attacking Wendy's he was simply saying that he saw a "Wendy's" commercial that to him, made a mockery of Auto-Tune and realize how wide-spread the usage of Auto-Tune really is. Had McDonalds or Burger King made the commercial he would've said the same thing...the commercial, which happened to be by Wendy's, was the inspiration for him to make the song D.O.A. He feels that Auto-Tune is played out now. I personally never thought it should've been used to make entire albums; usage on a track or two cool but for it to be your trademark sound is clearly a mistake (trends quickly come and go). Now that Jay-Z has officially declared death on Auto-Tune then those people who make a living off of it will have to make a decision because the trend is coming to an end. Furthermore, the sound is ripped off anyway. Zap, a R&B group used it long before T-Pain came on the scene. Dr. Dre' and TuPac used it for California love several years ago which featured Roger Troutman (Zap bandmember).
I strongly believe that Jay-Z like other quality hip-hop artists should just stick to their own brand/sound and trust that their fans will support them; this for Jay-Z is affordable since "money ain't a thing" for real!!!
