Not soft porn at all. Not even close. The most you ever see is someone's back or a closeup of a couple kissing. You get steamier scenes from daytime soaps. Besides, there are less than 50,000 humans alive in the universe, they are at war, and they are wandering in space. If these folks did not have sex something would be wrong with them. Also, most of the sex scenes did add to the story. Starbuck with Balter and calling out Apollo's name. Balter with anyone, indicating that he is so hedonistic and self centered that this the bedroom is the only time he expresses himself. Starbuck and Apollo, expressing their love...
