Details, or explanations are great.
and, this means musician in terms of things like:
-songwriting
-instruments played and technique
-voice
-lyrics.
and, anything else you can think of.

I would have to say, Beatles. It would be Paul McCartney and John Lennon. If John Lennon would have lived, he may have been stronger than Paul.

Wow ... difficult question.  The beatles were more a phenom than a talent waiting to happen.  They each evolved in such individual ways.  Lennon and McCartney  were by far the most successful songwriters by sheer volume.  Starr and Harrison definately had their moments of inspiration though.  Influences from outside the group cant be ignored either.

In my book, Musicianship includes such things as abandonment of ones own ego, and when it comes to that Harrison wins hands down.  Starr is in the same league really... the big egos were Lennon and McCartney.  Harrison and Starr were more of the 'all about the music' type. Id give the nod to Harrison because he was more productive than Starr.  Plus,  he has a son named Dhani!  :-D

if you know me, but i dont know you, you have me at a disadvantage. :smileyvery-happy:

I wasn't "into" the Beatles when they were popular.  I was an Elvis fan.

Now,  I enjoy John Lennons songs. (i.e. "Woman":smileywink:  and Paul McCartney (during his "Wings" era).

Pretty much the same on the Beatles when they were popular but I was into Motown.

However, I did think Paul McCartney and Wings was some of the best Paul did.

The only good song the Beatles did was "Come Together" and Aerosmith's remake was way better.

I see a pattern here... because the only good song that aerosmith ever did was 'walk this way'  and Run DMC did that way better.

keep this up ... we may find our way back to Mozart
