More government takeover - Socialism leads to Fascism

Obama and his henchmen are gradually chipping away at privately owned companies by giving government more controls over them. Socialism is when the government owns the company. Fascism is when the government not only owns the company but actually runs it. Government will become more intrusive as time goes on.Let's see now, wasn't it Mussolini in Italy that socialized the railroads,then took them over completly and government ran them? Of course, he promised the trains would run on time and they did. That was Fascism. Yes there should be government oversight of "too important to fail" companies but this does not have to include takeovers or government ownership. We are on a slippery path in this country We have a "wannabe" dictator as President and a Congress who is willing to go along with whatever Obama wants. Only the voters of this country can get us off this path. A Democrat controlled Congress is NOT in the best interests of this country or our citizens. Wake up now or one day you'll wake up and the United States will no longer be like the country you grew up in. What a terrible legacy to leave to our children. We are on the road to becoming a second rate country, mired in debt, the dollar no longer the leading currency of the world. What about health care? As a former employee of one of the leading professinal liability (medical malpractice) insurance companies I can tell you that we desperately need tort reform. But we're not going to see it in any government health care bill because Obama himself is an attorney and the majority of Congress is either an attorney or gets huge sums of money for their campaigns from trial lawyers. The reason Obama and the Congress want a government health insurance option in a health care plan is to gradually put insurance companies out of business so that eventually everyone will be under the government healtlh care plan. Right now Medicare is being bilked for billions each year in fraudulent claims ..How much will a full blown government health plan lose through fraudulent claims? If any readers of this are covered by Medicare I suggest you get any surgeries or other medical procedures that you need NOW because next year may be too late. Either what you need may not be covered or there will be a waiting list or you'll have to pay a large co-insurance. for these surgeries or medical procedures. The Obama claim that his health care plan will save money is an outright lie. You can save by having tort reform, you can save by eliminating fraud and you can save by not providing the level of care people are now receiving. Cutting reimbursement to doctors etc will cause doctors to opt out of the system. Then the citizens will be saddled with submitting claims for whatever Obamacare will approve and you'll pay the rest.

I agree 100%. The only bad thing is, We have also fallen to the Fascism. (most) everyone is too afraid to stand up and say anything, oh why would they when they have all the new choices on making money without working. Like lets say "WELFARE". gee, if I wasn't white and a male to top it off, I would apply to this new and relaxing lifestyle, but since I am, I am forced to do what every other honest red blooded American has done for years, "WORK" for my money. The government owns us whether we like it or not, it's the truth.
People got their change they voted for, Communism.
We need someone in office that will give us a real change, not just lie's and false hope..

Very well written post from one in the industry. I was also in the insurance business but as an executive with some of the big name property/casualty and reininsurance companies. Could not agree more on tort form. However, I do think some things in the proposed government option. Not being able to refuse coverage is a big one. Not so sure medicare is going south as you say. It definately needs changes. The private insurance companies need a good kick in the butt to get them to stop raising deds, co-pays and increasing prices. There is a ton of inefficencies iin the private sector too.
Oh well....can't get into every little detail that needs change as I can see you did not either.
Still a nice well thought out post even though I do not agree with all your points.

Memory, memory. What a wonderful way to have selective memory. Who ran this country into the ground. Your friends the republicans. They took a huge surplus and turned it into many,many minuses. On toop of that Taxes were reduced- lessening revenues. Then our invasion of Iraq. Talk of wasted trillions and corruption. All thus followed by the constant exit of corporations building new factories in lands where pay is counted in cents. Our workers: OUT IN THE STREETS. How can this be called good government? To blame is easy, to prove is something else. We know the record of the previous administratiion. Tenpa

Obama economic policy has fast tracked the deficit much further. Name one thing Congress and Obama have done to reduce the deficit?
