You can't forget Bill Russell (over Chamberlain) and Larry Bird.

Hey, can I file for screen name copyright infringement? Some people might mistake his posts for mine.  :smileysurprised:

Wait a minute. Based on his response above, grandpa is pretty smart. Never mind.   :smileywink:

Welcome to the wacky world of the Comcast sports forums. If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs, these forums can be very entertaining and fun. There are some great people on board. You should find out very quickly who they are.

BTW, I'm curious about how you picked the whole combination for your name. Mine is in honor of my three grandchildren and a special date in my life.

Oops, forget everything that I wrote above. I now see that he was here before me. Does anyone know a good copyright lawyer?  :smileyvery-happy:

Great starting 5. I would probably switch up the forwards though. Malone is probably a lock but you might need to slip in either Bird or Bob Pettit. I am not that old but Pettit was a machine from film I saw. Great 5 though.

A couple of Globetrotters alums who made the jump to the NBA: Wilt Chamberlain and Spencer Haywood. When Wilt played with them for a year, he manned the point, which really means that he did not take part in the weave. Other famous names from other sports who played for them: Lou Brock, Fergie Jenkins, and Bob Gibson. You couldn't be a Globetrotter unless you were an outstanding athlete first.

Interesting.........

when I saw the title of the thread I naturally figured you meant best ACTUAL starting 5 in NBA history, not someone's fantasy lineup.

Random scary thought: What kind of devil spawn would be produced if Skip Bayless & Ann Coulter were to mate?
