I really liked the movie Wonderland with Dylan McDermott and Val Kilmer , based on the Wonderland murders.

What are some of yours?

Haggard is the only one I can think of right now.

Happy Hanukkah to you as well!

I really liked In Cold Blood, Compulsion (based on the Loeb/Leopold case from the 20's), Inherit the Wind (based on the Scopes/Monkey trial- whether evolution could be taught in schools and still revelant today).  I'm sure there are more.

1. The Basketball Diaries
2. The Hurricane
3. Goodfellas
4. Remember the Titans
5. Apollo 13
6. Fargo (Just kidding - don't be fooled by the claim at the beginning.  This movie is complete fiction).

"In Cold Blood", which was the adaptation of Truman Capote's book about the Clutter murders, is one of my favorites.  I also like "Catch Me If You Can", in which Leonardo DiCaprio plays true-life con man Frank Abagnale.

My favorite movies based on a true story :

Hotel Rwanda
Monster
Ray
Catch Me if You Can
Men of Honor
The People vs. Larry Flynt
The Basketball Diaries
Boys Don't Cry

All these are based on real people and events but cinematic liberties are freely taken - even still they are awesome movies.
