Entertainment Weekly has a hilarious article of reader confessions about movies that were so dull or outright bad that they just got up and left.
See the full article:
What flick had you running for the aisles?
The first movie I ever walked out on? Last Tango in Paris. I never even made it to the famous butter scene (ew ew EW!); the flick was so pretentious and dull that my then-boyfriend and I actually started folding a piece of notebook paper into intricate paper cranes (me) and fighter jets (him).
We were film majors seeing the flick with other film majors, so we didn't want to lose face by walking out on a "classic." Finally, I came to my senses, packed my paper cranes and left. My beau and about 20 percent of the audience left shortly thereafter, as if my departure had given them permission to admit Tango stunk on ice. I had a hard time looking at Brando after that one.
A few years later, when the frogs started falling from the sky in Magnolia, I was part of the 60% of the audience that didn't leave in a rage. Bring on the falling frogs!

That was the first movie I walked out on too! Actually now I don't go to the movies much, I usually wait and get the DVD and watch at home, can't stand the noise and stuff in the theaters. People can't seem to keep their mouths shut and watch the movie. As for Tango I was going through some movie channels and they had it on, I kept on going! Another one had John Travolta and Lily Tomlin in it I don't remember the name of the movie, had a beach house in it. God it was bad, we left when I woke up from my nap during it. By the way I never fall asleep during a good movie!

Some Americans got so tired of being thought of as stupid by the rest of the world that they went to the polls last November and removed all doubt.

I didn't walk out since I saw these on DVD: - Leaving Las Vegas (I wanted a Prozac IV after that one!!)
- Eyes Wide Shut (over-indulgent actors/directors trying to dictate "art"
 - Lost in Translation (appeals to male fantasy of nabbing hot 20-something girl when you are 50)
- **bleep** the Movie (the opening music makes me dry-heave)
...and quite possibly THE WORST movies EVER to be made (insert drumroll...) The Adventures of Ford Fairlane (Andrew Dice Clay...enough said)

Jekyle2011 wrote: The worst movie ever made has to be "Even Cowgirls get the Blues" starring Uma Thurman, Keanu Reeves, Rosie O' Donnell, and a hand full of other well known actors. I had read the book by Tom Robbins and thought maybe the movie would be just as engaging but after 6 minutes I had to turn off the video. Thank God I didn't go to the theater to see it. Check out the reveiws on this website called Rotten Tomatoes. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/even_cowgirls_get_the_blues/
I love "Even Cowgirls get the Blues"- granted, I never saw it in the theatre.

I walked out on "Tron" and a movie called "The Hidden" with Kyle McLachlan.

I walked out of the movie "Soldiier" starring Kurt Russell and Jason Scott Lee. People looked at me like i was crazy because it was right before the last battle scene. I also remember being the ONLY person in the theater for Leonardo Di Caprio's "The Beach" Untill half way through the previews two 14 yr old girls came in, only to leave when Leo starts going nuts in the second half of the movie. Then i was all alone again. I was on a date back in college to see "Rising Sun" with Connery and the tax man Wesley Snipes and we walked out because we just didn't find it interesting. Here's one so bad that i can't even remember the name. I took my younger brother and a friend of his to a Kevin Costner movie about baseball. I think it's called, "For the love of the game"??? Anyways.... that movie was just absolutely terrible and we all walked out of that one.
