A lot of artists have covered Beatles songs. My choices for best remake of a Beatles song are "Yesterday" by Ray Charles and "I Will" by bluegrass artists Alison Krauss and Tony Furtado. The worst remake of a Beatles song? I think it's "Come Together" by Aerosmith, which was from the soundtrack of the "Sgt. Pepper" movie. At least on the Beatles' original hit version, John Lennon sang well. On Aerosmith's version, Steve Tyler does nothing more than scream at the top of his lungs. What do you think, fellow Comcast members? Which remakes of Beatles songs do you like, and which ones are flops?

sonicbaby wrote: I can't recall the name of the group but it had a female singer for Dear Prudence. I like it better than the original one by the Beatles. I can't stand it when I hear Beatles elevator music and there is lots of that.
But the Beatles were great songwriters, who could create good melodies and interesting lyrics. Their songs are covered by a variety of artists in various genres because of the craftsmanship of the songs. A great "marriage of music & lyrics can be found in this link to I AM THE WALRUS. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cqOKvonLrH8

I really like The Mamas And The Papas' version of I Call Your Name... It's so different from the original, yet it still has that Beatles feel to it... I don't know, it's hard to explain, I guess. I hate the cover of Come Together too. It drives me up a wall!

worst is definitely William Shatner's spoke word rendition of Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds. Whether he is trying to be funny or not I don't know, but it's absolutely awful! I also like Mama Cass' rendition of I Call Your Name
