Defectors Among the House Democrats "Jay Mallin/Bloomberg Representative Ike Skelton of Missouri, chairman of the Armed Services Committee, opposes the Democratic health care bill. While Democratic leaders say they are confident they will have the 218 votes needed to pass major health care legislation this weekend, a number of House Democrats, including several from Republican-leaning districts in the South, have announced that they will oppose the measure, which is President Obama’s top domestic priority." http://prescriptions.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/11/05/the-democratic-countdown-begins/ Is Nancy Pelosi telling us the truth about having the votes?

So....they lied when they said they didn't care about the Tea Parties. They lied when they said it was a small fraction of the voters who were just being rude at the Town Hall meetings, and they didn't matter. They lied when they said their voters wanted this bill. Now, when the votes don't materialize for the bill, what will the spin be then? All you have to do to get the truth out of a politician is to threaten his re-election chances.

The Comcast.net News & Current Events forum is for rational discussion about the news of the day. It is not a place for political debate, "cut and paste" text from questionable sources (i.e. personal blogs containing opinion pieces with extreme views from either political party presented as fact), spamming, campaigning, advertising or hate posts. Furthermore this is not the place for a personal political platform.
Please feel free to look over the News & Current Events Forum Policies

Suppose what we call "evidence' (the things we believe to be true) is only what we see because it is the only thing we know to look for?
The views expressed in this message are in no way the official views of Comcast and are of a personal nature.
