This term comes up often in posts and I think merits discussion. I think Political correctness is the truest form of hatred and prejudice. I think it is a way for the thought police to control what people say and think by making them afraid of the response.
This does not mean people should just thoughtlessly throw insults or curse words but this does mean that if my opinion offends you then you should ask yourself a couple questions
Why are you so offended simply by what someone else thinks or feels and
Why is someone else's opinion so important to you
Are we so ashamed of our background that no one can make a comment or joke about it?
So lets see what everyone thinks and please don't be politically correct

What some people call political correctness I call good manners and common sense.

I'm very disgusted that we once took people and made them out to be our personal mules (slaves) just because their skin was dark.

Political Correctness is neither.

It was never campaigned for nor elected by the people, so it isn't Political.

It is merely opinion, and therefore not correct in a factual sense.

Rude is rude, stupid is as stupid does, and a good steak is far too tasty to be incorrect.

I'm remembering back to the days when we had "Religious Correctness", or "Dogmatic Correctness".   It seems like it's the same group of people that had no problems shoving that down our throats that most strenuously objects to "Political Correctness".     Of course, most of us simply calls it good manners...

Have you got a mouse in your pocket????? I never forced anyone into slavery and I suspect neither you or anyone you know has either.
This is one of those insidious PC things that people get up in arms about. My family tree has been traced back to before the civil war in which our family had lost two men to the south fighting for the north.I am guessing that starting in northern New York my family never had slaves.Nowadays if you are white you are responsible for the spaniards who brought ships full of slaves over here.BULLCRAP!!!!

It is simply being in tune with and showing respect for the diverse backgrounds and feelings our fellowmen.

If it is to be.
It is up to me.

i find that many people who take pride in not being "Politically Correct" are actually rude and mean, and now have a nice little curtain to hide behind.

in a previous time we would have simply called them bullies.

certainly not all, but many

Try to keep the jelly side up.
