In an interview done by DL Hughley and Chuck D, Michael Steele says he is the de facto leader of the republican party, not Rush Limbaugh (around the beginning of minute 6).

Good for him ... actually decided to tune the show in due to the other thread on Hughley, so maybe I'll figure out what it was that offended Count Chocula (silly screen name to use if you're gonna be as grumpy as that one seems to be).

On the face of it I'd say good for Michael Steele ... that party is a monumental joke if Limbaugh is their "leader," what rubbish.

I want Rush to be their leader.  I will show how vacuous the republican parties platform is.

As a Republican I have to say that there isn't a leader in the party. Leaders actually stand up to their own party members when it's called for, and right now all we have are a bunch of yes men/women that won't stand up and ask why we're allowing talk-show hosts to act as our voice....stand up and demand that we return to being fiscal conservatives, and not just pretend to be when the Dems take office, or hold the majority in congress.
Johnnie Mac might have gotten my vote in November if he'd been true to himself, and those that truly respected the man that ran against Bush in 2000. Instead, he allowed himself to become Dubya Jr., and to make matters worse, he took on Sarah "don't know much 'bout nothin" Palin as his VP running-mate.
The time for stupidity has reached the end, and the Republican Party had better get it's collective head out of it's collective @$$, or we may not be able to regain the WH, or a majority in congress.....in fact, the party may disintegrate.

Hope they do make Limbaugh the de facto leader of the GOP, they will marginalize themselves even more. America has had enough of the failure of right-wing philosophy, they are moving forward, both economically and socially.
