There is a lot in the article... but I personally found this part fascinating.
....
He predicted that unemployment will likely climb a lot higher before the recession is done, but he also reiterated his optimistic long-term view: "Everything will be all right. We do have the greatest economic machine that's ever been created."
Fear and confusion have been driving consumer and investor behavior in recent months, Buffett said.
The nation's leaders need to clear up the confusion before anyone will become more confident, and he said all 535 members of Congress should stop the partisan bickering about solutions.
Buffett said he believes patriotic Republicans and Democrats will realize the nation is engaged in an economic war.
"What is required is a commander in chief that's looked at like a commander in chief in a time of war," Buffett said.
"Too bad that all the people who know how to run the country are busy driving taxicabs and cutting hair." George Burns

"What is required is a commander in chief that's looked at like a commander in chief in a time of war," Buffett said. We're doomed.

That was a good read! Our leaders keep telling us how bad it is. Not the type of leadership we need.

Yes, we MIGHT have had the greatest economic machine ever created but I'm afraid our government has done quite a lot to muck it all up.
Fear and confusion have been driving consumer and investor behavior in recent months, Buffett said. Exactly, and that fear grew at the "crisis talkers" feet every time he got in front of the cameras or in front of the microphone. Crisis, crisis, crisis, crisis, severe crisis, biggest crisis since the Great Depression, and on and on and on. You want confusion ... let Pelosi and Reid go in and come up with an unfocused piece of legislation that dumps Trillions of dollars of debt, shakes up the ownership of banks and insurance companies, and makes the stock market wonder "who's worthy of government bailout and who isn't."
The nation's leaders need to clear up the confusion before anyone will become more confident, and he said all 535 members of Congress should stop the partisan bickering about solutions. I laugh every time I hear this. Neither party wants to give up what is at the core of their party. Republicans are suppose to be against growing government and government spending. Democrats are suppose to be for government programs to help with social programs and thus grow the size of government. You don't find a lot of common ground there.
Buffett said he believes patriotic Republicans and Democrats will realize the nation is engaged in an economic war. Is he referring to Biden's definition of patriotism? Time to spread the wealth around ... time to pay more taxes. Considering Mr. Buffett is lauded as a brilliant business man and investor ... I have no doubt that his money isn't touchable by taxes.
"What is required is a commander in chief that's looked at like a commander in chief in a time of war," Buffett said. And lastly ... oh my lastly. During the campaigns, Obama was the man with economic experience and McCain was the man with wartime experience. Although I voted for McCain I worried that if the economy got worse, I wasn't all that sure if he would stand to Conservative values and keep the government out of the mess ... afterall, Bush did TARP 1 and I still feel that was a mistake. Instead, we have a President who has seized the "crisis" opportunity to introduce the biggest bunch of unfocused nonsensical spending in the history of our nation. He campaigned on his surgical abilities to cut the budget and yet it's the LAST thing he is attempting to do. Instead he has allowed the leaders of the House and Senate to create the biggenst spending bonanza of non-existent tax dollars ever and guess what ... the economy isn't responding! Those in the 60% approval column really need to wake up. Obama isn't too big to fail ... and if he doesn't start listening to the people ... he's fixin' to fail miserably.

Actually, Buffett is on record stating that he doesn't pay enough taxes under the current system...here's your link to the interview.

We could always have George Bush I suppose or worse John McCain. How about Sarah Palin? We got the best could have hoped for given the choices we had at the time. I'll take a Harvard scholar over a couple of college do-nothings anytime. You can criticize Obama all you want but the alternatives would have been a complete disaster and that fortunately didn't happen. All you are left with now is your sad condemnations and failing party. Nobody likes a bad loser. Uh-oh.
